Karina officially did it today... she told me on the way home from school that she wanted to practice riding her bike without her training wheels. You can't pass up that opportunity with Karina, so we got home and pulled out the bike. It only took a few laps around the cul-de-sac, and she was screaming with joy at her success!
"I can't wait for Mommy to get home so I can show her that I can ride with no training wheels!"
Mom got home shortly after, and though the wind blew hard, Karina showed off her great new skills. There was only one minor tragedy - she did hit a parked car. I think it was one of those things where you see the object coming, but you can't stop looking at it, and before you know it you bee-line right into it. But she quickly recovered - no blood, not on the car nor on her, and she got back on the bike and perfected her turning abilities.
Way to go, Karina!!! We're so proud of you!

Me too!
I, Daddy, walked into the kitchen this morning buttoning up the last 2 top buttons on my shirt, and Makenzie, finishing her breakfast, assumed it was time to leave. She started to say, "bye, bye Daddy," used to me being gone for work.
As I walked by Jadyn and Karina, I answered that we were all going. I try to be affectionate with my kids, so without thinking I patted my hand on Jadyn and Karina's heads as I said this. Immediately, Makenzie began touching her head and saying what I thought was "Pick me! Pick Me!"
I answered, "Of course you're coming. We're all going!"
She shook her head, touched her hair again, and said "No. Pet me, too! Pet me, too!"
