Garage in process

We've been working in the garage and attic this week getting ready for a garage sale. Mark built some shelves, and when they were done, the girls got to play a bit before we filled them up.

They were pretty cute!

The shelves work great, and hey, if you want to spend the night you could even sleep on the shelves and imagine that you're sleeping in "the racks" on a Battleship in the U.S. Navy. What a deal! But don't worry - you're welcome to sleep inside, too, if that's your fancy.

Jadyn's Imagination

Jadyn woke up from her nap today. I (Julie) noticed that she had a large amount of kitty fur on her shirt, and when I asked her why, this is the explanation I got. If only I could include pictures of the faces, expressions, and hand gestures she used during the story...

(Note: the following is a verbatim narative from Jadyn) (Note 2: "Wicket" is the name of our cat)

Jadyn: "I went to wicket, 'What are ya doing up here?"

Wicket: "Jadyn, I want you to bother me. I was just waiting for someone to bother me."

Jadyn: "Hey, Wicket, I can bother you for a long time. I like to bother you."

Wicket: "Ok. That's good because I really wanted you to wrestle with me."

First Soccer Game

This was last Saturday. What a blast! Her team name is the T-Rexes.
It was entertaining to watch these 3-4 year-olds running in a big huddle around the ball. Passing, fancy footwork, and agility all come later in life, but the kids loved it anyways.
That is, except for the boy who cried the whole time. And the girl who liked sitting on her mommy's lap more than actually playing.

Jadyn, however, did great. She got to play goalie for a little while (they all took turns) and didn't allow any goals, making 2 great saves in the process.
Her favorite part - "running real fast and falling down."

Enjoy the pictures.

Soccer Season

Jadyn had her first soccer practice yesterday. She's one of only 3 girls on the team. One of them is definitely a die-hard soccer lover, another likes to sit and pick the grass, and fortunately Jadyn was a little more like the first one. The first thing their coach had them learn (which Jadyn already knew) was how to high-5 and how to do "knuckles". We're a step ahead of the curve already!
