Karina-isms

A few of the latest...

Yesterday, after dinner, I made some chocolate chip cookies for the girls for dessert. I know... what a good Daddy I am. The girls were finishing watching Bambi, and Karina was torn between her desire to finish the movie and her desire to help cook. She chose the movie, but still wanting to be a part of the cooking process, kept asking what I was doing every step of the way.

When the first batch finally came out of the oven, she ran in to check them out, putting her head right next to the pan to see them up close. Not wanting her to accidentally burn herself on the pan, the good Daddy in me said, "Karina - be careful. The pan is still very hot."

Her reply, in an endearing, mesmerized voice, "I know. But they're not too hot to smell!"

Later that night, after she finished getting ready for bed and came down to say goodnight, she walked into the kitchen with me, looked around, and said, "I just like being in this room, because this is where all the cooking happens."
