Rest time..finally

For those interested, Mark and Chad made it to Oklahoma and are spending a much needed night there with friends. They will be headed out for the last leg of their trip to New Orleans in the morning. Almost there!

Cowgirls at heart

This week, Jadyn has been a part of a Vacation Bible School program at a church up by our house. She is loving it so far. Their theme of the week is Avalanche Ranch: A Wild Ride Through God's Word. She comes home in complete cowgirl mode everyday.
Yesterday, she taught Karina one of the things she learned in class. She would say: "God is real!" Then you are supposed to shout out in your best cowgirl/cowboy drawl: "Yahoo!". It is so funny because when Karina does it, she shouts "Weehaw" instead. Then they both get so excited about it, they keep repeating it over and over. My girls just crack me up sometimes!

A day at the park

Jadyn climbed her first tree at the park the other day! She is hooked and is
constantly asking if she can climb the ones around our house now.

It's a boy!

Meet the newest addition to our family! We have loved having Grandpa and Grandma from California up here visiting this week. They brought our new "boy" up with them! Grandpa has worked very hard over the last several months to make our little Pinocchio just for us. We have had a lot of fun learning to make him talk, play, and dance. He can even turn his head from side to side! We love him! Thank you so much for all your work, Grandpa!
Definitely a precious treasure.

Summer at last...

We definitely welcomed the sunshine back today. The girls played outside all
morning and even got to enjoy lunch on the porch. What a great day!

New House Progress Report

And so the process begins... we stopped by our new home site today and the foundation is already poured! At this point it looks like we might be moved in by Halloween. How cool!

A night out

Last night, while we went to a Sounders soccer game, the girls had an even better time playing with Grammy at home! Thank you so much for giving us the last-minute night off!

Hard hat required

Jadyn has been sick the last couple of days off and on. It is what we lovingly call
having the "throw-up's". Not so much fun. But, leave it to our Jadyn to
come up with a way to have fun anyway!
She decided that when the "special bowl" was not being used for its intended purpose,
it made a great hat. She has been wearing it around the house all day. The good
news is that it has only been a hat all day!

Perfect Saturday

Can you think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning? Cookie making is always the winner at our house. If you come visit us, you can try some, too!
(They don't last long though, so you might want to hurry!)

Jadyn has been going to swiming lessons all week.
When she got home today, I asked her what they had done in class.
At first she began to tell me, then she decided she needed to show me. I had to take a picture.

Of course, once Karina saw what Jadyn was doing, she had to jump in, too. How cute!~

Another day at the park...

We took advantage of the break from the hot sun (it was 103.5 yesterday) this morning by going to our favorite park with our friend Davia and her son, Noah. It was a lot of fun playing, hunting for ducks, eating lunch and picking just the right flowers. It did eventually get very warm again today, but at least we got to play and even experience a few raindrops before that happened.

More from our little Photographer...

May we never forget to stand back from time to time and remember what the world looks like through the eyes of a child...

Some things to look forward to...

This is word for word from Jadyn tonight at the dinner table.

(Please note: When reading, you must somehow get through the whole thing without taking even one breath and you must also add hand gestures and unlimited excitement to get the full picture.)

Good luck!

"When I grow up to be a Mommy, I’m going to name my 1st baby Karina. Is it okay to use the same name? I like it. Then we would have 3 Karina’s that we know. That would be sooo much fun!

I’m also thinking that we could live right next door to you and Daddy. I can have a house with big closets of my own. But I get to pick which house it is and the color and carpet it has in it.

My room would be pink and my baby Karina’s room would have a crib and the walls would be purple! It is going to be so beautiful!

My 2nd baby will be named Jadyn. That would make 3 Jadyn’s, too! I am the 1st one, the baby at church that we met, and then my baby Jadyn! Wow, can you believe it if there were 3?!! It would be okay as long as we are all different ages. It would be too hard if we were all the same.

Oh~ And in my house that I have, the Mommy, which is me, will have a different room than the Daddy. That is just the way my house will be built. That way we don’t have to worry at all about needing to share stuff. That is no fun to have to share always.

Even though I have my own house with the closets, you and Karina, (your Karina), can come over to play with us so you don’t get too lonely. I hope that I can ride my bike by myself when you come to play. I have to keep practicing. Maybe I can be good to teach your Karina to ride it. She would love that!"

Happy 4th!!

We have been having lots of fun listening to fireworks all day. I hope
you all are enjoying the sunshine, too!

Our little model...

Jadyn loves posing for pictures.

Today she was playing around on the scratching post (probably because most of her toys are packed up and it was all she could find to play with).

As Mark walked by, she was too cute to resist, so he grabbed the camera and began shooting.

Check out our web album for the cute results!

Manners, manners

We have been trying to get Karina to have good manners at the table (a requirement at
our house). Currently, we are working on eating with your mouth closed. Whenever
we remind her to keep her lips closed, she gives us this funny face. It makes
me laugh every time I see her little lips pushed way out!
