Reading really opens up the world around you.
Jadyn was eating her yogurt the other day and looked down at the advertising on the packaging. It read, "Trick your wheels," with some sort of skate board logo on it.
So she asks, "Daddy, why does it say to trick your wheels?"
I reply with an explanation, "When they say 'trick' like that, they're really saying to make something fancy. In this case, they're saying to make your wheels fancy."
Through her eyes I can see the gears in her head turning as she contemplates this new concept. Then she replies excitedly, "You could put a dress on your wheels! And a crown! Then they would be fancy~"
