Once again, we got the privilege of building and racing our own cars for the AWANA Grand Prix races. It was a bit crazy this year with only 2 weeks to somehow come up with 2 cars. Definitely made us wish we didn't have that rule that the girls have to do 98% of everything themselves. It was tough, but they did great and we made it on time to turn the cars in!
(Not to be left out, Makenzie insisted on posing for her picture by the wall at church, too!)
Jadyn came up with the idea of making her cat, Molly. Karina (big shock) wanted to make an elephant car. Never do they doubt Daddy's ability to make their crazy ideas become reality!
Finally, race day is here. Makenzie wasted no time making a new best friend, Sammy!
She wanted to bring "Mammy" home with us!
They each got to race 8 times.Both girls were very excited to make it to round 2 this year!

If you know us at all, you know that there is one part of the zoo that is by far the best: the elephants! This was a very sad day visiting them. One of our favorite ladies in the herd has lost one of her tusks. Truly devastating to a certain member of our family. We did, of course, get the whole story from the keepers, but still very, very sad news. Karina decided that she can't wait until she loses her first tooth...so she can go back and have something in common with her best friend and understand her sadness! So sweet! (FYI- Watoto caused her own tooth loss.)
